Metal kid, hard-core kid, punk kid, sad emo kid at heart? Yes, all of the above. But when it comes right down to it, I’m mostly the resident pop punk dude here at the Ometer. First time I heard Fireside Was on an American recordings CD compilation that featured ‘Sucking the Dust’ from their amazing record Do Not Tailgate. They’ve been in my top bands ever since.
While doing a yahoo search on Fireside back in the day, I came across this little website called firesideometer.com. There I met fellow fireside fanatic and creator of the page, Eric Gmutza. I became a reviewer and interviewer, and the rest is history.
Halfway through 2025 and already too much good stuff to process. These are the albums that cut through the noise.
Firesideometer's resident mall goth skater boi is here with his first ever year-end review.
After a full-blown eternity, we're back with a mid-year review chock full of mind-blowing rock and metal albums for you to enjoy.
