I'm Eric, and I handle the design, development, editing, and social media for Firesideometer—basically everything except making money from it. Like a lot of 80's kids, I went from Def Leppard to Ratt to Iron Maiden to the thrash big four, but I'll never forget first hearing Fireside at the CD listening station at TD's in Bloomington—one of those moments when you discover a band that changes everything. These days I spend way too much time obsessing over whether a song deserves an 8.0 or 8.5, but the real reward is connecting with fellow music nerds who actually read these overly detailed track-by-track breakdowns.
Summer's here, and the time is right for a mid-year review. Brian, Chris, and Eric check in with the albums that have haunted their 2021's.
We can't focus on 2021 until we bid farewell to these excellent tunes we forgot to tell you about in 2020.
Let the month of Year End Lists at Firesideometer begin! Come see how wrong Eric is about the best of rock and metal from 2020.

Even the most fanatical thrash fan sometimes misses a winner. If you know every album on this list, we salute you!
How can we set our sites on our 2020 Year End lists when we never even settled our hash with 2019?
